Emerging Leaders with Rebecca Fishman Lipsey

In our latest edition of our Emerging Leaders dinner, we had the privilege of having Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, President and CEO of The Miami Foundation, as our guest speaker. This was a full circle moment as Rebecca was an attendee at our first ever dinner. Rebecca shared her story and exchanged ideas with our guests on what brave, unifying leadership looks like right now.

These dinners provide an opportunity for up-and-coming leaders to connect with like-minded individuals and hear the stories of those that have come before them.

Thank you to our partner Greenberg Traurig, LLP Traurig for hosting this evening.

A Brave Space: Humanizing One Another in the Context of Israel and Palestine

A Brave Space: Through a series of conversations, we attempted to bring together people in Miami – who hold differing views about Israel-Palestine – for dialogue, learning and relationship-building. We did not aim to resolve the question of Israel-Palestine. Instead, we aimed to listen to one another’s stories and expand our individual perspectives to be more inclusive of other narratives. Our ultimate hope was to humanize one another and further our individual and collective capacity to respect and uplift one another.

Highlight on this month’s Break the Bias: Elevating Voices

Mosaic Miami and Temple Beth Am’s unBIASed initiative and Youth Engagement Religious School (YERS),  recently held Break the Bias: Elevating Voices, a program featuring the voices of high school students from across Miami representing different faiths and identities.

Following a panel discussion between past Mosaic Miami Metrotown Delegates, high school students from public and private schools across South Florida took part in small group dialogues in which they explored and reflected on antisemitism, islamophobia, racism, and other forms of bias and how we can collectively create an inclusive community that dignifies all identities.

We Mourn the Loss of George Feldenkreis

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of George Feldenkreis, a visionary leader, philanthropist, and cherished member of our community. His unwavering dedication to the arts, culture, and the Jewish heritage has left an indelible mark on Miami and beyond.

As a steadfast supporter of Mosaic Miami and past Silver Medallion honoree, George’s passion for preserving and celebrating Jewish history and culture was truly inspiring. His generosity and leadership enriched countless lives, and his legacy will continue to shine through the work he championed.

Our hearts are with the Feldenkreis family and all who were touched by his kindness and wisdom. May his memory be a blessing.

Mosaic Miami Condemns Miami Beach Shooting and Calls for Unity

Mosaic Miami is outraged by the recent shooting in Miami Beach, where police say a local man fired 17 shots into a car carrying two Israeli tourists he believed were Palestinian, injuring both. These acts of violence, spurred by hateful misconceptions and prejudice, underscore the urgent need to reject bigotry in all its forms. No one should live in fear because of their real or perceived heritage, religion, or identity. We call on our community to come together, de-escalate tensions, and foster respect and understanding. Hate cannot be allowed to take root here—or anywhere—and we remain committed to advocating for the safety and dignity of all.

Bridging Gaps: An Intergenerational Day of Service and Connections

Over the weekend we partnered with More Perfect Union and Dr. Marvin Dunn’s Truth Garden, to host Bridging Gaps: An Intergenerational Day of Service and Connections. Participants learned about vegetation, Overtown’s History, and rolled up their sleeves for volunteer gardening. During lunch, we had an opportunity to break out into conversations, as an opportunity to learn more about one another. See this exciting event on our LinkedIn page!
