Memorial Day: We Remember and Honor

On this Memorial Day, we remember. We honor. We reflect.

At a time when our world often feels divided, we are reminded that the men and women of our military put aside differences every day—standing shoulder to shoulder in service of something greater than themselves: the safety, freedom, and promise of our nation.

Today, Mosaic Miami pays tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, unity, and selflessness embody the highest ideals of service—and call us to live with purpose, compassion, and hope.

May their memory be a blessing. May we carry forward their legacy by striving for a more united and understanding world.

Statement on the murder of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky

We are heartbroken by the senseless murder of Sarah Lynn Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.— a young couple devoted to peace, service, and dialogue. They were killed after attending an event focused on how organizations are working together in response to humanitarian crises in Gaza and throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Sarah and Yaron embodied the hope that even in the face of division, dialogue and empathy can prevail.

At Mosaic Miami, we condemn all acts of violence and remain dedicated to building a world grounded in dignity, understanding, and peace. We will not allow violence to extinguish the pursuit of justice or silence those working for reconciliation. While we cannot solve every problem, we can make a difference by engaging in open dialogue, seeking to understand differing perspectives, and showing respect even in moments of deep disagreement.

May their memories be a blessing, and a reminder to meet hatred with humanity, and despair with unwavering courage.

Join us for our May Interfaith Clergy Dialogue

Mosaic Miami’s Interfaith Clergy Dialogue is the longest-running program of its kind in the United States. This initiative brings together religious leaders from a wide range of faith traditions for regular, meaningful dialogue focused on fostering understanding, collaboration, and collective action.

Held monthly, these gatherings provide a safe and welcoming space for clergy to engage in honest conversations about pressing community issues—including antisemitism, racial prejudice, immigration, and other social challenges. Through open dialogue and mutual respect, participants work to strengthen interfaith relationships and create unified responses that reflect the diverse spiritual fabric of Miami.

More than just discussion, the Clergy Dialogue plays a critical role in shaping inclusive, faith-based responses to community needs. It exemplifies Mosaic Miami’s commitment to building bridges across religious and cultural divides and ensuring that Miami’s faith communities stand together in times of both celebration and crisis.

In Loving Memory: Pope Francis (1936–2025)

Today, alongside communities worldwide, we stand together mourning the loss of a true champion of “be good to thy neighbor.”, Pope Francis.

Living his life ensuring equality and peace on earth, Pope Francis was a visionary and empathetic leader — the first from the Americas to hold the title of Pope, and a strong advocate of everything Mosaic Miami believes in and stands for. His legacy is a reflection of the values we strive to embody every day: compassion, justice, unity, and radical love for our neighbors.

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pope Francis served as the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. He made history not only with where he came from but also with how he led — humbly, honestly, and with a heart always turned toward those on the margins.

He reminded the world that faith is not just something we hold — it’s something we live. He championed inclusion over exclusion, dialogue over division, and grace over judgment. His message reached beyond borders and religious lines, speaking to the soul of humanity.

At Mosaic Miami, we honor his life with both grief and gratitude. We reflect on his unwavering call to care for one another, especially the least among us, and to walk humbly with God.

May Pope Francis rest in the eternal peace of Christ — the peace he so boldly preached and gently lived.
May his legacy and teachings continue to inspire generations to come.

With love and hope,
The Mosaic Miami Team
