Breakthroughs and Bridges
Engaging Youth Across South Florida
Breakthroughs and Bridges is a collaborative program founded by Breakthrough Miami that brings together students from diverse backgrounds to engage in dialogue on critical social issues. Working in partnership with Breakthrough Miami and independent schools such as Ransom Everglades, Gulliver Preparatory, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Palmer Trinity School, Belen Jesuit Academy, and Cristo Rey Miami, this program provides a platform for youth to discuss topics ranging from environmental sustainability to human rights, reproductive rights, and housing security for the unhoused.
Participants engage with community leaders in roundtable discussions, learning directly from those actively addressing these issues in Miami. The program culminates in capstone projects where students collaborate with local organizations to implement real-world solutions. Breakthroughs and Bridges is more than just a program; it’s a launching pad for civic engagement and leadership among Miami’s youth, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to create lasting change.
